About
Join artist and educator Mark Vazquez-Mackay for two full days of painting in the Canadian rockies. Retreat will start Saturday morning by getting familiar with the landscape by doing some drawings. Then, you will spend the rest of the weekend painting the landscape alongside Mark while receiving guidance and suggestions from him on how to strategies your painting.
Participants are welcome to paint in any desiered medium: water-colour, acrylic, or oil.
Where
We will meet in Dead Man’s Flats/Three Sisters Campground and take a short walk into our painting site off the Bow river. Location is a 1 hour drive from Calgary. For lunch, you are welcome to bring food, or walk into town to a restaurant.
If transportation is a barrier for you, we can explore carpooling options.
Materials
Field or portable easel
Paint set (paints, brushes, palette)
stool/chair (optional)
bug repellent, sunscreen, food/drink, etc
Cost
$80 for 1 day
$150 for both days
You are responsible for the cost of your accommodations, art materials, and food.
